I must have taken fifty shots this day of dragon fly’s. I knew they were mating and laying eggs, but they move so darn fast it’s almost impossible to get that perfect shot. I was getting frustrated but kept at it, hoping my determination would pay off. It was a lucky day.
Captured at the exact moment the female drops her tail into the water to distribute her eggs, she then quickly reattaches to her mate and continues the flight-romp. A very happy day for me to see this up-close and take a shot of it.
I used the Nikon 5100 on this shot, 55-300mm zoom: 220mm, F/5.3, ISO 400, and man was I happy with the results. The 5100 shoots up to 4 frames per second. Great camera!
Have a great day, People!
